Inspiration for Our Wedding

 Hey Guys!

Today's post is going to be another wedding post! We haven't actually gotten to the planning part yet of the wedding but we have been planning all of the other events that are typically included with a wedding such as the Bachelor/Bachelorette parties and the bridal shower. Our rehearsal dinner is pretty already planned to thankfully. That was probably the easiest and quickest of them all. I will do some blog posts on that as well, including our experience of finding a place and then once we actually have it, I will do a review and explanation of details!

Projects for Our House 2019

Stephanie Kamp Blog: Projects for Our House 2019
Hey guys,

So as I've said before, my sister and I bought a fixer upper! Our house was built 1976 and the previous owners pretty much didn't update a single thing in the entire house since it was built. I think the only thing they really updated was the fridge and I'm guessing that was because their old one broke.

Electrical Panel
One of the things we need to work on is getting our electrical panel redone. Apparently it's no longer up to Florida building code and could potentially cause trouble for us in the future. Our washing machine and dryer are also right next to it which is another big no-no when it comes to the Florida building code. I'm hoping that if we do get it redone we'll be able to figure out which switch goes to which light/room because currently we're just hitting and missing most of the time. Whoever did the wiring in our house was not very good. It's something we really need to fix.

Pool
Our pool also needs to get fixed because it has a leak in it. It's a very small leak but we're guessing that when hurricane Irma hit last year and the ground shifted a little bit that our pool might have settled a little and created a small leak. We had a company come out and test it and thankfully we don't have a crack in our actual pool it's just in one of the vent thing's that pools have. Don't ask me what they're called because clearly I don't know! But it's something we need to get fixed because we were constantly having to refill up our pool. Thankfully when the company came out they did a temporary fix but we're not sure how long it will last before it starts leaking again.

Garage Door
We really need a new garage door. Ours has a lot of gaps in it and a lot of bugs and stuff get in and it's just time for a new one! Our current one is actually kind of neat though because the panels look like wood but they're metal. So in theory if the garage door was newer and didn't have the problems I already listed then I think it would be nice to just stain it but we need a newer up to date door. Also they make them now so they are hurricane proof and they come with like these special bars that you install whenever a hurricane is coming just to add extra protection for your garage.

New Windows
I don't think that the windows in our house have ever been replaced. Which is a really long time for windows to go without being replaced especially when they are no longer up to code either. Basically most of the things in our house are no longer up to Florida Building Code because we have these wonderful things called Hurricanes. I would really like a window for my room particularly because our windows are so old and thin that you can hear pretty much everything that goes on outside and I can always here our next door neighbors whenever they are outside on their dock or even sometimes when they are standing and talking in their driveway. It's crazy! The only downside to needing new windows for an entire house is that you could basically buy a new car for the amount you will spend on new hurricane impact windows. The other reason people recommend new windows is because they are tinted nowadays and they will supposedly reduce the amount of heat that gets into your house which can in return lower your electric bill but our electric bill is already pretty cheap so I don't think it would really have much of an effect on our bill.

New Driveway
Our driveway is currently like the normal size that can fit four cars which is fine considering only 2 of us live here but we kind of wanted to be able to host family events and other random parties throughout the year and that's kind of hard to do when your driveway only holds 4 cars and your family is huge! Eventually my goal is to redo our current driveway and then expand it by adding on a circle drive. This will hopefully allow us to fit at least 2 or 3 m ore cars depending on the size of the circle drive. We could potentially park a car in our garage but it's currently has a the trailer that we put our jetski on if we want to take it out of the water and go somewhere with it. We have to figure out where we want to put that eventually so we can actually use our garage as a garage!

As you can see most of the projects that we need to have done right now are things that we can't really do ourselves. We have to hire contractors or companies to come out and install or repair certain things. I wish we could some of it ourselves but I definitely don't want to get electrocuted nor do I know how to pour concrete for a driveway! The only other downside is that all of these projects will cost more than $1,000 each so we basically just have to wait until we can save up some money.

My first goal is to have a few different companies for each problem come out and give us a quote so we can get an idea for how much we need to start saving. I honestly think it would be so awesome if all of these things could get done by the end of the year but I don't think they will. But I will definitely be posting more about the house and updates that we've done to it. It's currently a big mess because we're working on organizing our office/guest/craft/workout room! We're also planning on having a garage sale sometime this month or next month so there is stuff everywhere! Anyways, keep checking back for more updates on the house!

Talk to you soon!

Favorite Shows from Fall 2018

Stephanie Kamp Blog: Favorite Shows from Fall 2018
Hey guys,

So I honestly don't really have that much time for tv, nor do I have cable but there are currently four new shows that I've been watching the past fall season. They include: Manifest, Legacies, Single Parents, and New Amsterdam. And since I said I don't have cable I guess I should tell you that I watch all of these shows the next day after they air on Hulu! I think programs such as Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime were some of the greatest inventions ever. I love them and my sister and I haven't paid for cable probably for like 5ish years. In case you guys didn't know cable is super expensive and my sister and I have always hated wasting the money. However, we currently are paying for Hulu Live which is something we figured we'd try out for a little bit since it's quite a bit cheaper than cable but we'll see. I actually have pretty much figured out that I don't really use it so I don't know how much longer we'll keep it.

One thing I highly suggest about cable is make sure you do your research before buying or renting a new place and make sure one company doesn't have a monopoly on your area. That's our biggest problem, in our area, the only option is Comcast. If had other options I would probably have cable and just switch around to whichever option is the cheapest after each contract ends.

Anyways back to the shows! Manifest is something I've been watching with my sister and we really enjoy this show. We think that it is very intriguing and we can't wait for a second season, fingers crossed that it gets one! So far they have not said if they will be getting one. Anyways if you missed this show this past fall season, I think Hulu still has every episode and I'm sure it will eventually go on Netflix sometime this summer! That's usually where I tend to catch up on shows I missed. One of the reasons we enjoy this show is because of the science fiction behind and even though I didn't watch every episode Lost, I know that it's from the creators of Lost and Lost was a pretty good show that everyone talked about for a while and some still talk about today.

The reason I watched Legacies because I watched both Vampire Diaries and The Originals. I actually didn't watch the last season of The Originals but my goal is to rewatch that series sometime soon because I feel like it would teach me a lot about Legacies since it's the spinoff of The Originals. Legacies ended I think like a week ago and I thought it was really interesting. I'm still don't know how I feel about it. I thought that certain parts were really good and then other parts were super weird. I don't really want to give any spoilers but some parts were supernatural or science fiction/fantasy for me.

When it comes to Single Parents, I think this show is super funny and all around amazing! I love all of the actors. It has Leighton Meester which I personally know as Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl and then it also has the brother from Everybody Loves Raymond. His character is hilarious and he has twin daughters and it's just so funny to watch them all together. But if you enjoy watching 30 minute sitcoms then I highly recommend this one to you because it's really funny and the kids in it are so cute and they do kind of crazy things sometimes!

So I definitely love a good doctor show! I pretty much have tried to watch all of the classics such as ER, House, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, The Resident, Chicago Med, The Night Shift, Private Practice. So as you can see I have a little bit of an obsession but it's kind of ironic because in real life I can not handle blood or anything medical related at all. Like I barely even go to the doctor because it grosses me out so much. And the smell of doctor's offices, hospitals, and nursing homes all get to me and make me super nauseous. My family thinks it's so weird. But anyways New Amsterdam is really good and it's a little sad. Some parts kind of break my heart a little but he's such a good doctor and he actually cares about helping people. The first episode is crazy and a part of me really thinks someone should test out his theories at a major hospital and see what happens!

Talk to you soon!

Stephanie Kamp Blog: 25 Things To Do Before I Turn 25
Hey guys,

So I know I turned 25 like 4 months ago but I’ve been a little lazy and a little busy! But here it is, my updated and final 25 things to do before I turn 25 list! I have to admit that I definitely failed at this list which makes me a little disappointed in myself but at the same time I did so many wonderful things before I turned 25 and honestly I look back and can't believe that I have been able to do some of them.

So my update is that I actually didn’t check anything new off of this list from the last update, which is why I am not going to say much. I did however make it to Germany but it was not before I turned 25. It was about a month after I turned 25 so I was a little late but at least I got to go!

3) Travel to Greece
4) Own a House
5) Live somewhere new out of Florida (even if only for a short amount of time)

8) Completely decorate a place with new furniture and have it paid off
9) Improve my French or learn the basics of a new language
10) Watch all of the Star Wars Movies
11) Make some blogging friends and maybe experience new things because of blogging
12) Help my sister publish her book and then maybe read it (haha)
13) Go on a road trip
14) Go to a professional hockey game
15) Go to a professional bull riding event
16) Go on a Mission Trip
17) Volunteer at a Summer Camp
18) Buy a Chanel Bag
19) Do something that scares me
20)Travel to Colorado with my sister
21) Go Zip Lining
22) Go tubing/white water rafting
23) Help build a house for Habitat for Humanity
24) Pay it forward
25) Either be dating, engaged or married

My next blog post will be “30 Things to do Before I Turn 30” and basically everything that I did not check off will be added to that list but some will be removed because I either don’t think I will ever be doing them or I no longer have an interest in doing them anymore.

Talk to you soon!

My 200th Blog Post

Stephanie Kamp Blog; My 200th Blog Post
Hey guys,

So this is my 200th blog post! I honestly can't believe I've written 200 posts! Honestly, I am very proud of myself considering growing up I absolutely hated writing! I never would have guessed that I would start a blog in college and actually continue it after I graduated. I have been blogging since 2015 off and on. I have taken a couple breaks here and there and gone through several different schedule changes. After I graduated my goal was to maybe hopefully turn this into a career like several people have but obviously that doesn't really work out for everyone.

So since it hasn't happened yet I think it's safe to assume that it won't be happening in the future and I'm okay with that! At this point, I really do enjoy writing about different topics and taking pictures and creating outfits for you guys so I do plan on continuing to write. I can't promise how often I will write or how long each post will be but I definitely plan on continuing with the blog and who knows maybe someday it will turn into something!

So in my opinion, it has taken me way too long to get here and I am slightly upset and annoyed with myself because of it but it's totally fine! I was living my life and accomplishing goals. As of right now, I am really enjoying the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday schedule that I have come up with.  Once I start my new job and I get more of a schedule and a routine down and I am able to actually go out and buy outfits and then take pictures of them then I might pick my start my every weekday schedule again but for now I'm just going to stick with the 3 days a week. So far it has worked out really well and it allows me to fulfill my need to write without it being too much!

I have several posts planned for the next couple months and like I said once I'm able to go shopping and buy new clothes and shoes and other items then I will hopefully be able to take pictures again and start posting outfit posts again! Which if I do then I might be able to add 2 more posts a week which will be strictly outfit posts. I love posting outfit posts but they take a lot of time to go out and take the photos and then go through all of the photos we've taken and select only like 10 or so! It takes me almost 3 times the amount of time than it does to just sit down and write out a long lifestyle post!

Sorry this post wasn't anything special, I will definitely come up with something better for the next major blog post, I just didn't really have time and I wasn't really sure what I should do! I hope you guys still enjoy reading my posts! And for those of you who do read them I really appreciate it! It means the world to me! I really enjoy writing and as I'm sure a lot of you have noticed, I have a lot to say so I might as well write it all down and post it on here for the world to see! Haha! Anyways, I hope you guys have a wonderful August and keep checking back the rest of the month for new posts!

Thanks for stopping by!

Trying Something New

Trying Something New

Hey guys,

So I have a lot of thoughts and ideas and random things that are always popping into my head at all hours of the day and so I thought I'd try something new. I'm going to start writing more blog posts that are more like articles minus all of the facts and research. It's basically just going to be 100% honest me and what I'm thinking and feeling. I always come up with random quotes and I think to myself a lot so I was thinking it might be interesting to kind of just sit down and write everything out and see what happens. Some people may like it, others may hate it, who knows! Maybe it will work out and I'll get featured in a magazine or on another website. I don't know! Only time will tell!

I just feel like I need to do this because I've never really been that great at journaling or keeping a diary and I've said multiple times on here that I'm kind of using this as my digital diary or journal so I can remember things for later on in life. I can also have this to show to my kids someday! I may also get laughed at or made fun of, I really don't know. All I know is that it is great to try new things! I may also run out of ideas or I may absolutely hate writing stuff like this. But we will see and I hope you guys enjoy it. I'm currently working on a few things at the moment and will probably have a few blog posts up this week! My goal is to have one every day this week but we will see what happens!

I will be traveling to New York on Wednesday and then I will hopefully be a travel diary like I always do as long as if I remember to take all of my pictures and write down what we did every day. I haven't decided if I plan on brining my laptop with me. I don't think I will just because it will be one less thing that I have to carry! I'm also hoping to shoot a couple of outfits while in New York but we will see what we have time for.

I hope that this all works out and I hope that you guys have an amazing week!

XO, Steph

May 2017 Q&A

May 2017 Q&A
Hey guys,

1) Can you curl your tongue?

I can curl and roll my tongue but I can't do that clover thing that some people can do.

2) What do you want to be when you grow up?

Honestly, I am not entirely sure but my goal is to become the CEO of my own company. I don't really want like a huge company or anything but I think it would be fun to be able to say that I started a company and ran it as well.

3) Have you ever peed in the woods?

No, I have been camping before but thankfully I always camp at campgrounds that have bathrooms! haha

4) Do you cut out coupons and then never use them?

I used to coupon a lot and there were some that I never used but that was mostly because I never actually used the product so why would I buy it and use the coupon. However, there have been several times where I have left my coupon at home and so I just didn't bother and threw it away haha.

5) How long does it take you to shower?

It actually takes me a long time to shower and my family always makes fun of me for how long I take in the shower. I typically take like a 30 minute long shower, sometimes shorter sometimes longer depending on how I'm feeling.

6) What are your hobbies?

I don't really have any legit hobbies but I do enjoy shopping or doing fashion research. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love traveling and exploring new places!

7) Loud music or soft?

Both! It depends on the situation for me. If I'm studying or doing something where I need to be focused then soft music but if I'm in the car or just doing busy work around the house then I prefer loud music.

8) Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?

No (knock on wood) and I hope I never do!

9) What is your eye Colour?

My eye color on my license says hazel but technically my eyes change color, it just depends on what I am wearing. Sometimes they are more blue and sometimes they are more green.

10) Do you always smile for pictures?

Yes, I feel weird not smiling for pictures plus one thing you should know about me is that I almost always have a smile on my face.
