Favorite Shows from Fall 2018

Hey guys,

So I honestly don't really have that much time for tv, nor do I have cable but there are currently four new shows that I've been watching the past fall season. They include: Manifest, Legacies, Single Parents, and New Amsterdam. And since I said I don't have cable I guess I should tell you that I watch all of these shows the next day after they air on Hulu! I think programs such as Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime were some of the greatest inventions ever. I love them and my sister and I haven't paid for cable probably for like 5ish years. In case you guys didn't know cable is super expensive and my sister and I have always hated wasting the money. However, we currently are paying for Hulu Live which is something we figured we'd try out for a little bit since it's quite a bit cheaper than cable but we'll see. I actually have pretty much figured out that I don't really use it so I don't know how much longer we'll keep it. 

One thing I highly suggest about cable is make sure you do your research before buying or renting a new place and make sure one company doesn't have a monopoly on your area. That's our biggest problem, in our area, the only option is Comcast. If had other options I would probably have cable and just switch around to whichever option is the cheapest after each contract ends.

Anyways back to the shows! Manifest is something I've been watching with my sister and we really enjoy this show. We think that it is very intriguing and we can't wait for a second season, fingers crossed that it gets one! So far they have not said if they will be getting one. Anyways if you missed this show this past fall season, I think Hulu still has every episode and I'm sure it will eventually go on Netflix sometime this summer! That's usually where I tend to catch up on shows I missed. One of the reasons we enjoy this show is because of the science fiction behind and even though I didn't watch every episode Lost, I know that it's from the creators of Lost and Lost was a pretty good show that everyone talked about for a while and some still talk about today.

The reason I watched Legacies because I watched both Vampire Diaries and The Originals. I actually didn't watch the last season of The Originals but my goal is to rewatch that series sometime soon because I feel like it would teach me a lot about Legacies since it's the spinoff of The Originals. Legacies ended I think like a week ago and I thought it was really interesting. I'm still don't know how I feel about it. I thought that certain parts were really good and then other parts were super weird. I don't really want to give any spoilers but some parts were supernatural or science fiction/fantasy for me.

When it comes to Single Parents, I think this show is super funny and all around amazing! I love all of the actors. It has Leighton Meester which I personally know as Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl and then it also has the brother from Everybody Loves Raymond. His character is hilarious and he has twin daughters and it's just so funny to watch them all together. But if you enjoy watching 30 minute sitcoms then I highly recommend this one to you because it's really funny and the kids in it are so cute and they do kind of crazy things sometimes!

So I definitely love a good doctor show! I pretty much have tried to watch all of the classics such as ER, House, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, The Resident, Chicago Med, The Night Shift, Private Practice. So as you can see I have a little bit of an obsession but it's kind of ironic because in real life I can not handle blood or anything medical related at all. Like I barely even go to the doctor because it grosses me out so much. And the smell of doctor's offices, hospitals, and nursing homes all get to me and make me super nauseous. My family thinks it's so weird. But anyways New Amsterdam is really good and it's a little sad. Some parts kind of break my heart a little but he's such a good doctor and he actually cares about helping people. The first episode is crazy and a part of me really thinks someone should test out his theories at a major hospital and see what happens!

Review of the new Disney World Toy Story Land

Hey guys,

So here is my review of Disney's new Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios in Florida! The land opened in July and this was our first time going! We went towards the end of August and it was super hot but I am really glad that we were able to go check out the new land. We got to ride the Slinky Dog Dash but we chose not to ride the Alien Saucers because we don't really like spinning rides like that. We get a little too dizzy and motion sick! 

The ride was a lot of fun and I will definitely go on it again. In my opinion, they did a great job making you feel like you are a slinky! My sister and I rode in the very last row of the coaster and when we went over one of the hills it felt like we were going to fall backwards which something that a slinky would do. 

They also moved the entrance to Toy Story Mania to be a part of the land which was a great idea because it would have been a total hassle to have to walk around and out of the land just to get on the ride. Also, I think of the benefits of them opening up two new rides is that the wait time for Toy Story Mania went way down. We only waited for about 30 minutes or less each time. It was great! Normally the wait time is ridiculous and it was so hard to get a fastpass even. 

They have a place to get food in the new land. It's called Andy's Lunch Box and it's just a small little outdoor sit-down place. We ate there for breakfast and I would definitely like to go back an eat there for either lunch or dinner some time. The food was pretty good and I wanted try some of the items on their lunch menu!

 When we sat down for breakfast the green army men came and sat down next to this little boy that was saving a table for his family while they were waiting in line getting food. It was super cute because they tried socializing with him but he was not having it. He basically looked down the whole time and I think he might have been a little sacred the whole time but when they left they tried to steal his chairs and he just sat there. It was so funny, they brought them back of course but they tried so hard to make him laugh! 

This was my breakfast! It was actually on the kids menu because I wanted some tater tots and I also didn't want a whole sandwich. The kids menu also comes with a drink which is nice too! I also don't really eat a lot so it's nice to be able to get a kids meal and actually eat the whole thing! I got the s'more sandwich and it was tasty but a little dry. It would have been better with some syrup but it didn't come with any and I didn't feel like asking for any! 

So the picture below was taken in the morning at around 7 something! I love the entrance, it is so cute  and a great picture opportunity with a giant Woody!

So I know this isn't the greatest picture but I took it to shower the giant boot print because Disney did such a great at making you feel like you are a toy and that's a human's foot print. They were so creative this part of the park and I can't wait to see the new Star Wars land next fall! I also can't wait to see all of the new things that are coming to all of the Disney parks in the future! 

Overall, I highly recommend visiting this part of the park during the day and during the night! Everything is all lit up at night and it's super cute and festive! I hope you enjoyed this post! I plan on writing more Disney posts in the future because I am constantly at Disney and it's one of my favorite places to be!

Review of Owning Mirrored Furniture

Hey guys,

So I wanted to do this review because several people were like are you sure you want to buy mirrored furniture? It's going to be such a hassle to clean and it's going to constantly look dirty and you are going to have to clean it all the time. All I heard were negative things from people and so I thought I would give you guys some insight incase you've ever wanted to buy mirrored furniture. 

So I went online to try and find my nightstands (or should I say nightstand because I only bought one and was planning on buying the other one later) but I wasn't able to find them anymore. So that kind of sucks. I'm hoping that they still sell them in stores but knowing my luck, they probably don't. I included a picture of the table that I use as my vanity and then a picture of a different nightstand that I might have to buy instead if they don't sell mine anymore (insert sad face emoji here)! 

I currently only have two pieces of mirrored furniture in my bedroom but I'm currently thinking of purchasing this piece as well because my room is pretty tiny and I don't really have the space for a full size dresser and then my closet is pretty much as full as it can get and I still have quite a few pieces of clothing at my parents house. I'm also using the bottom drawer of my nightstand to hold my pajamas haha. I currently have a wardrobe thing inside my closet that has drawers and thats where I store all of the stuff that doesn't really need to get hung up such as bras and underwear, swimsuits, workout stuff and other items. So I was thinking of using it to put all of that stuff in and then I could use the drawers for the rest of the stuff that is still at my parents house. However, I'm not sure how deep the drawers are I don't know if they sell this one in the Pier1 stores.

I totally I recommend mirrored furniture. I've had mine for about 2-3 months now and I've only actually deep cleaned it once in those two to three months. And I didn't even really deep clean it. I just grabbed some Windex (not sponsored) and some paper towels and cleaned

the areas that weren't covered with things. For example, on my vanity, I have all of the containers that sit on the back half of the vanity and hold my makeup. I didn't remove these and I didn't remove the lamp that sits on the vanity as well. All I did was remove everything else that I typically don't leave on the vanity anyways and then I wiped down the front half of the top and then I wiped down the drawers. I figured after like 6 months or so it might be dirty enough for me to wipe down the legs but I have a feeling even then won't need to be cleaned for a while.

So far I absolutely love having mirrored furniture. I am a little more cautious with the things that I put on it and I make sure that I always use a coaster because I don't want to leave any marks whatsoever. But if you have furniture that is made out of real wood or MDF you should always be using a coaster because sweaty cups or bottles can be leaves on any type of furniture. However, I should mention that the furniture I grew up with at my parents house had a glass protector over the wood. So all of my furniture was an espresso colored wood (or MDF I'm not really sure what it's made out of) and then a piece of frosted glass over the top. So I was pretty much used to always having to protect the glass. I would never really use a coaster though, I would always just set my bottles of water down in bed with me or I would place a glass on top of a notebook or piece of paper. 

If you have kids then I would only recommend having mirrored furniture in rooms that the kids don't really go in very often only because of how fragile it is and fragile kids can be. If they were to drop something on top of it or run into it, it could end up breaking somehow. I just don't picture mirrored furniture and kids going very well together.

Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac Review

Hey guys,

So today's blog post is going to be another purse review and it's going to be on the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac. To be honest, I love writing purse reviews because I love being able to sit down and write everything that I love and dislike about a certain purse. I want to make sure that I am giving you guys a thorough review so you can finally decide whether or not you actually want to purchase the purse! I have a couple more purse reviews that I am on the fence about writing because I am not entirely sure if they are handbags that people still purchase frequently. But I'll think about it and we'll see if I write them! Haha

As you guys know this bag has been featured on my blog several times (it's in almost every single outfit post)! I love this bag a lot and I have owned it for about 4 years now. It is my go-to bag that I grab it whenever I need to just get out the door. I would recommend this bag to anyone and everyone!

Side note: This bag comes with two leather strings that are attached to the zipper pulls but I took mine off. I wasn't the biggest fan of having really long strings hanging down the of my purse. I have put them back on like once or twice but I will typically leave them off just because feel like they are kind of annoying and may potentially get in the way.

This bag can be worn three different ways, either with the long strap (cross body or just hanging on your shoulder), without the strap (it can be worn as a clutch), and with the strap doubled over to make it shorter. I pretty much only wear it with the long strap because I love being able to wear it as a cross body. However, I have gone out of town and only taken this bag with me using it as my daytime bag and my nighttime/evening bag.

I love this bag mostly because it is black! I love a good black handbag because it will pretty much go with anything. I also love the gold detailing. I tend to favor gold over silver because I tend to take after my mom and that is her favorite choice! I also the size of this bag. It is smaller but not too small. I am still able to fit pretty much everything I need inside of it including my card holder (or two), my cell phone, a small sunglasses case, some lip products, and a few other items. Sometimes I also carry gum, hand sanitizer, and hair items (ponytail holders and bobby pins).

This bag had two compartments, the main one where all of your stuff goes and a smaller one hidden underneath the flap where the buckle is. I typically don't keep anything in there except for small items that I will forget that I put in there and then end up finding them months later when I got to clean out the handbag haha.

The only damage the bag has is some beat up hardware which is to be expected with any bag and where the buckle is, the leather has been rubbed smooth in that particular area. Other than that, the bag still looks brand new after using this bag the most often during the last four years.

The classic black mini mac comes with gold hardware (that's what I have), silver hardware, rose gold hardware, black hardware, oil slick hardware, and gunmetal hardware.

I tried to take a couple artistic shots of the bag, as you can see! I love this bag and if there is a bag that I would recommend to everyone, it would be this bag. It's low maintenance and it goes with literally everything!

Honestly, if I could own it in every single color I probably would. This is my go-to bag and it's just such an easy low maintenance bag.

Paris Travel Tips

Hey guys,

So today’s post is going to feature some travel tips that I have come up with for traveling throughout Paris. I originally came up with some of these for my friends that are getting married next November and they plan on honeymooning in a few different countries in Europe. The bride and I also share a mutual love for The Eiffel Tower so I knew that I had to share all of this information with her!

1) Temperature

Throughout all 6 of my French classes (but only 3 different teachers), I was always told that Paris never gets hotter than the 70’s (Fahrenheit) in the summer. Well, now that I have been there, I can say that that is not true! I’m not sure what the actually temperature was when we were there but it was basically like being in Florida except it felt a lot hotter on some days.  So I recommend not bring too many long sleeve shirts (I brought a couple and a few sweaters). I was also told that French people are very modest and don’t wear short shorts or dresses. But we definitely noticed people wearing plenty of shorts, rompers, skirts, and dresses. So in my opinion, you can really wear whatever you want (okay not really)! I would still do research on what to wear and try to blend in just a little.

2) Sunscreen

Also, since we went during the summer and the sun was out constantly, we got sunburnt! For some odd reason, we didn’t think of the possibility of getting sunburnt. I guess because we didn’t think it was going to be that hot and you really only seem to get sunburnt when it is hot out (or at least that’s how it seems sometimes haha). So we didn’t bring any sunscreen and I pretty much got sunburnt every day that we were there. Most of the time it was mild and went away by the next morning but it was still annoying since skin cancer runs our family.

We thought about buying some sunscreen there but I didn’t really see the point especially considering they divide their stores in such as weird way. For example, if you want bread you go to the bakery (boulangerie), but if you want a dessert you go to the pastry shop (pâtisserie). They do have supermarkets like us but we never really found one because we didn’t really know what to look for. So I recommend bringing sunscreen if you burn easily and if you are planning on going during the summer. The other reason I mention this is because we did not seem to experience an issue with this when we went to Ireland or London. However, we traveled to Ireland in March and it was pretty cold out.

3) Clothing

One of my biggest recommendations is not to worry about what to wear. When we were searching online, we kept looking for like things that French people would wear so we wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb and get pickpocketed. We were very anxious about that since it was just my mom, my sister, and me and no men. But we actually ended up being fine. We did do research online before going about certain tricks that the pickpockets like to do and we definitely did see a couple times where people were trying to pickpocket other people and since we had read the tricks we knew to just like walk away from the area. I highly recommend reading this article and this article about pickpockets, if you are worried.

4) Shoes

I do recommend avoiding wearing tennis shoes like everyone says online though. I only noticed a couple times where native people were wearing tennis shoes (and it was because they were either exercising or walking to work) and then you would see tourists wearing them at the tourist spots but I definitely think it does help to not stick out.

5) Public Transportation

I also recommend using public transportation as much as possible because even when you are using it you are still going to be doing a lot of walking. It will help to save time and you will be able to get so much more done. It's an added expense but in my opinion it's worth it because you'll be able to see more and you won't be as tired. I honestly preferred the buses to the metro but both are extremely busy during work hours. I like the buses because you are above ground and you get to see more of the city. However, sometimes you may have to take a bus versus a metro because only one can take you to where you need to go.

6) Hop-on-hop-off Buses

I also really recommend buying at least one day of the hop on hop off buses! It was really nice to be able to go up to the top and just view the city as we drove by everything. Plus they take you to all of the popular attractions, which is nice! When we were in Paris we actually just stayed on the bus for one whole trip, which took like an hour, and it was great to be able to listen to the audio guide and learn things about the city! And also relax and take everything in! They also offered upgrading a second day for only a little bit more money so that’s what we did.

7) Don’t be afraid to ask for help

One thing we noticed is that the French people were really nice! Thanks to society, we were kind of expecting the opposite. I’m not sure why so many people think that French people are mean but we really only had an issue one time the whole 6 days that we were there. However, I don’t suggest asking a random person on the street for help but I definitely recommend asking someone at your hotel concierge or front desk for help before you leave your hotel. You can ask them the best way to get where you want to go and what they recommend doing or even where to eat. It's literally their job to know where everything (popular tourist attractions) is in the cities they work in. So if you ask them "What's the best/cheapest way to get to the Eiffel Tower?" they will tell you exactly what to do and they will probably also tell you the price. Our hotel was in a somewhat risqué area (near the Moulin Rouge) but the staff was amazing! Even if they don't know where something is, if you have the address they will still most likely be able to tell you how to get there. Also, you can ask someone working at one of the tourist attractions because they will most likely know how to get there.

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Review

I bought this bag back in February. I bought it right before I went on my trip to Ireland but I also had it when I went to New York at the middle of February (Day 1 Post and Day 2 Post). I've wanted this bag for a while and I finally saved up enough money to purchase it so I decided I should just go ahead and purchase it before we went on our trips. I brought this bag with me to NYC, then the following weekend on a cruise, then to Ireland, and then back to NYC. I may have also brought it to Jacksonville with me the weekend after we got back from New York but I can't remember. It was a very busy 4-5 weeks we had back in February and March!

I've owned this bag for about 6 months now and I thought it was time to do a review. I don't really use this bag too often because it is so large. I prefer to only use it when I need to. I typically use it when I am going out of town (I brought it with me to St. Augustine this past weekend). It holds basically everything you need it to so it's nice to be able to use when I have to bring a lot of items with me. However, since it is so large I don't really like to wear out on a normal basis because it kind of gets in the way sometimes.

One nice thing about the bag is that the sides cinch in, which is how I wear it if I am just using it on a normal basis and don't have it stuffed to the brim. 

I love how this bag comes with the wristlet nowadays. It didn't used to come with it but since they added it, that means they also raised the price of the bag. The bag used be a couple hundred cheaper but they raised their prices a couple years ago and then they added the wristlet which drove the price up a little bit more. The wristlet is huge so it does kind of make up for the price increase because it can be used as a wallet instead of having to buy a wallet as well. However, there is only one compartment inside of the wristlet which means, if you do use it as a wallet, it might not be very organized or easy to find things.

This bag is very large and apart of me does regret buying it. I thought that I would love how big and open the bag is but I guess I forgot how much of a neat freak and an organized person that I am. I do prefer to use my Tory Burch York Tote (which I reviewed here) over this bag because the Tory Burch has a compartment for everything. There's a slot for my iPhone, my iPad, my laptop, spots for chargers, and other random things that you might need to carry on a plane. The only thing the Tory Burch doesn't hold well is my camera in it's travel bag whereas with the Neverfull, I am able to put everything in it plus my travel camera bag. 

However, even though everything fits inside the bag, it is not organized at all which drives me a little crazy. When I was on the plane looking for something in my bag, I had the hardest time trying to find it and I basically would have to take everything out of the bag before I was able to find what I was looking for.

This is normally everything that I put inside of the bag. Other stuff that I normally put in the bag that aren't pictured include a water bottle, any chargers that I might need for my devices, and sometimes a snack or two! And there is still room leftover inside the bag, it's crazy!

I chose this pattern over the other two options because I prefer the traditional Monogram Canvas. Plus I feel like since this was only my second bag, it is normal to stick to the traditional Monogram Canvas considering the price of the bag. I'm also just a really big fan on the Monogram Canvas over the other color/pattern choices. I also love the color on the inside which they don't offer in the other patterns. I decided to go with the pink interior (Pivoine) rather than the traditional beige because I thought it was more festive and made the bag a little prettier. 

If you really want this bag and have the money to spend on it, then I totally recommend it! It literally holds everything. It reminds me of Mary Poppins bag because you can seriously fit everything inside of it and just keep shoving more in it. However, the more you put in it, the heavier it gets, which is to be expected. The straps are very thin but they surprisingly don't hurt as bad as you think they might.

I do have to add that I did not bring this bag with me to London or Paris. The main reason being, that my dad actually wouldn't let me bring it. Since he wasn't going on the trip with us and he wanted us to be 100% safe, he didn't want to risk us looking like we have that much money and potentially being targeted for pickpocketing or mugging. Especially considering everything that has been going on in Europe (and terrorists).
