February 2016: NYC Day 2

My sister and I ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park

My mom, sister, and me in Central Park

Snowman in Rockefeller Center

Hey guys,

So on our second day and our last day in New York we walked to Central Park and went ice skating at Wollman Rink. It was a lot of fun and something my sister and I had wanted to do for a while now. We've already been ice skating in Rockefeller Center but we had never gone in Central Park before because I always chicken out because it's so cold outside. However, once we started skating I actually ended up getting really hot and had to take my jacket off.

I definitely recommend going ice skating in either of the two rinks if you happen to go to New York during the winter months because it is a lot of fun and basically a very popular tourist attraction. I did however prefer the Wollman Rink because it was larger and they also had a lot more staff to help out the children or anyone if they fell and couldn't get back up.

After we finished ice skating we decided to find lunch. We ended up in Rockefeller Center where we ate at the Rock Center Café. We each had the RCC Chef's Burger, which was pretty tasty but extremely large.

After lunch we headed back to our hotel to grab our luggage and a taxi because it was time to head to the airport (it was like 3 something by the time we got done with lunch).

Thanks for stopping by!

XO,
Steph

February 2016: NYC Day 1

Sunrise at airport in Fort Myers, FL
View before landing in Charlotte, NC
Manhattan in the far distance
Pizza!!!
Walking back to the Waldorf!

Hey guys,

So on our first day in NYC we left Fort Myers at around 6:30 a.m. and we had a connecting flight in Charlotte, NC and then finally landed at JFK at around 11:10 a.m. We then hopped in a cab and went to our hotel, which was The Waldorf Astoria (I will be doing a review on our stay later).  We didn't really have that much planned for either of the two days that we were there because it was such a last minute trip and we weren't staying for very long. The reason we were there was because my sister had an interview for grad school which was later on in the afternoon.

When we got to our hotel we went to check in to see if our room was available and it was so we headed upstairs to check out our room and relax a little before going to grab lunch. I don't have any pictures of our lunch because we just grabbed subs at one of the many grab-n-go type places that New York has. We then hung out in our room for the next couple of hours while I finished homework and my sister prepared for her interview. Then we left the hotel, grabbed some Starbucks, and dropped my sister off at her interview which was being help at a hotel near Times Square. While my sister was at her interview my mom and I just walked around Times Square and checked out a couple stores until she was done. Then we headed back to our hotel and added some layers because it was getting colder out.

In the evening we went to dinner at a place called Pazza Notte and we enjoyed a Pizza Cacciatore. This restaurant seems to be a very popular after work hangout and was very busy and filled with a lot of people. So if you are looking for a quiet dinner on a Friday night, I would not recommend this place. However, the pizza was delicious so if don't care if you can't really hear what anyone in your group is saying then I would definitely recommend it. After dinner we walked back to our hotel room. We were supposed to go ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park but we decided against it because it was really dark and were weren't sure how to get to the rink.

Thanks for stopping by!

Steph

Hey guys,

These pictures were taken on our second day aka our last day in New York! It was a much warmer day compared to the day before, it started out in the 40's in the morning and then heated up quite a bit to the 60's. I preferred the 40 degree weather much more than the weather we had the day before and the 60 degree weather. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to wear wintery clothes while visiting the city. It was a nice change compared to our Florida weather.

I hope you enjoyed this look! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey guys,

So I went to NYC over the weekend for a very short trip, literally. I went with my mom and sister because my sister had an interview for grad school. We only stayed one night and we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in The Towers. I had always wanted to stay at the Waldorf and I am so glad that we were finally able to stay there. We are actually headed back to New York in March because that is where we are flying out of for our trip to Ireland so we decided to stay in the city a couple of nights for the last few days of my last spring break while in college.

The pictures were taken on the day we flew in but this is not the outfit I wore on the plain. I wore more comfortable pants and shoes for the plane ride and then changed when in the evening time because it was like 32 degrees, which is pretty cold for a Florida girl like me! Sorry for the quality of the pictures, they were taken at night because I didn't change until the evening.

Thanks for stopping by!

Steph
