My Story

For my first official post I wanted to tell you guys a little bit more about myself and why I am plan on having a career in the fashion industry.

It all started back in 2006 when I was in 7th grade, I met a girl that I became very close with throughout the year and she introduced me into very wonderful worlds; the first being fashion and the second being New York City. I had already learned about a few other designer handbag lines such as Coach and Dooney & Bourke from other friends and I was able to save up my chore money and purchase my own Coach handbag for $98 when I was in 6th grade.  However, since I grew up in a small town on the west coast of Florida, I never really knew other designers existed.

I still remember the day she wore a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans and carrying a Dolce and Gabbana handbag that she was borrowing from her mother. I was so fascinated by how beautifully they were designed and you could just tell that they were really expensive and they were probably going to last her a really long time. After that she brought in a Juicy Couture handbag and thus began my love for all things fashion. We would talk for hours about fashion and New York and how amazing all of it was. Even though my friend and I never really talked much after 7th grade, I am very thankful that I was able to meet her and get to know her because she pretty much changed my life forever.

After I met my friend and we talked about New York City all the time, I was able to convince my parents to take a family there to see what it was like. The second we arrived I knew that I wanted to grow up and move there, it was felt like I was at home and I did not want to leave. One day during our trip, we stopped by the infamous department store Bergdorf Goodman and that’s where I purchased my first pair of designer jeans, a pair of Paige Premium Denim jeans. Ever since then the only thing that I have ever wanted to do with my life is to work in the fashion industry as a women’s clothing buyer for Bergdorf Goodman.

After we left New York, I started to do more research and I fell in love with the fashion industry even more and knew that it was the industry I needed to work in. I talked about it with my mom and I found that when she was younger she was contemplating going into fashion merchandising as well and that’s when we decided that being a women’s clothing buyer was the perfect career for me because depending on where I worked I would be able to meet with designers and browse through their lookbook and attend fashion shows and select which clothes the store would be carrying the next season.

I chose to work towards earning a business degree instead of a fashion degree because everyone that knows me knows that I am a very wishy-washy person and I love to change my mind. Even though working in the fashion industry is something I have wanted to do for the last 9 years, I am not completely sure it is what I want to spend the rest of my life doing. Also, I am not sure if I want to spend the rest of my life living in cramped New York City or extremely busy Los Angeles. After growing up in Florida, I do not believe that either place is suitable for raising a family and since all of my extended family lives in Florida I think it would be best to be around them when starting a family. I love both cities very much but after living in Florida for 21 years, the idea stresses me out. Also, I have become very used to having a Publix on almost every other corner.

Wish me luck and thanks for visiting my blog! Please keep checking back for new posts!

Welcome to my Blog

Hello Everyone!

My Name is Stephanie Kamp and I am so glad that you have found my new blog! I was born and raised in Southwest Florida where I am currently still living. I live with my older sister in a house that we rent and try to make feel as homey as possible. My sister is my best friend and role model we do everything together.  I am 21 y
ears old and I love to travel. I have been to almost all 50 states, some of them twice and I love getting to explore new places and seeing what the rest of the world has to offer. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing with my 8 year old PappyPoo, and exploring the wonderful world of fashion.

I am currently in my third year of college at Florida Atlantic University and I am taking all of my courses online. I am working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management. At the moment I am only majoring in Management but I am going to be adding Marketing on as a second major very soon. If I stick with this plan I will be graduating at the end of this summer, Summer 2015 which would be earlier than my original graduation date of May 2016. However, I am contemplating getting two BBA’s, one in Management and one in Marketing. If I end up going with this option then I will be graduating at the end of the fall semester, which ends in December of 2015 which would still be earlier than my original graduation date. I have yet to make up my mind so if anyone has any advice or suggestions about what I should do, please feel free to leave a comment down below. I love getting second and third opinions!

Starting a blog is something I have wanted to do for while now but I kept putting it off. I am very excited to start on this new adventure and I hope you guys enjoy viewing and reading what I have to say. I have selected to write a lifestyle blog because I love all things fashion, beauty, décor, and so many other things. I enjoy going shopping and trying new articles of clothing. I love to research new beauty products and try them until I figure out which one works best for me. I also love to decorate my house and make it as chic as you possibly can with a rental. I am not the best cook but I love to do it and I especially love to bake delicious new desserts for my family to try. Traveling is also something I am very passionate about and I am currently planning a trip for my spring break to New York City and Washington D.C.

To make this blog unique, I plan on creating outfits based on some of my favorite cities such as New York, Los Angles, Paris, and London. Based on the fact that I live in Florida, I also plan on putting together outfits that can be worn all year round for those fellow Floridian followers. I also plan on reviewing products that I have tried and giving my honest opinion about them. I love to try new things and seeing how well they work so if anyone has anything they would like me to review just leave a comment down below. This blog will feature written posts along with pictures and possibly some videos to go along with any makeup and/or hair tutorials I may do.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you think this blog sounds interesting and keep checking back for more post!
