Spring Break 2016 Ireland Day 2

Hey guys,

On day 2 in Ireland we got up and drove to the town of Killarney where we took a bus tour of The Ring ofKerry. It was a very nice tour but definitely not one I would recommend. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the tour company that we went with. Our tour guide didn’t really talk that much and the bus was also freezing the entire time we were on it. I guess the driver didn’t feel like turning the heat on. I don’t really remember much about the tour and I also don’t know the names of any of the villages or towns we drove through or stopped at because I don’t think the driver really told us any of the names.

A tour company that I would recommend using is the Paddywagon Tour Company. We took one of their tours later on during the trip and it was great! The driver was fun, he played good music, the bus was heated, and I probably remember more specific details from that tour than this one. However, I believe that both tour buses were equipped with WiFi, which were both very spotty since we were driving around so much.

The sites that we got to see on the tour were amazing, the places we got to go were adorable and a lot of fun. I definitely recommend taking a tour of The Ring of Kerry if you are ever in Ireland. The place we ate lunch at had the most amazing view and if I knew the name of it I would definitely recommend eating there. We also stopped at The Kerry Bog Village and The Red Fox Inn. My sister got an Irish Coffee at The Red Fox Inn and we all tasted it and it was pretty good. We also toured The Kerry Bog Village which is probably not something I would recommend. It was kind of boring but at the same time it was neat to see how people lived back in the day in Ireland. That’s all I really have to say about the tour so I will just let you enjoy the pictures!

After we finished with the tour, we headed to the Muckross House because it was recommended that we tour it. However, by the time the tour was over, the tours for the house were already over and the house was closed. The property that the house was on was still open so we were able to walk around and do a little shopping in the gift shop and they recommended a place for us to eat at. However, I don’t think that actually ate at the place they recommended.

After visiting the Muckross House we drove a little bit down the street to Torc Waterfall and took a few pictures. My mom is obsessed with waterfalls (and castles) so we definitely tried to see as many of both as possible while on this trip. The waterfall was beautiful but after seeing Niagara Falls in both the summer and winter, nothing really compares.

Next, we went to find some place to eat dinner and on our drive home we actually came across a place that my sister wanted to eat at because I believe a famous writer used to eat there and work on his stories. However, I totally forgot which author it was (I will try to find out later). The restaurant we ate at was called The Jarvey’s Rest and both my sister and I had cheeseburgers, which are definitely not as good as American cheeseburgers.

After dinner we headed back to our hotel and called it a night because literally everything that is a tourist attraction in Ireland closes between 5 and 6 pm. The only things that stay open are the bars and pubs. It was very different from America because you can do so much after going out to dinner at 6 such as go shopping, go see a movie (which I don’t remember seeing a single movie theater the entire time we were in Ireland), or really anything you want.

Feel free to leave me a comment and share this with your friends!

Thanks for stopping by!
