New York Summer 2018 Day 1

Stephanie Kamp Blog: New York Summer 2018 Day 1
Hey guys,

So we flew out on a Thursday and we booked our flight for later in the evening so my mom and sister could still work regular days and not have to take any PTO so we were all ready to go and then we get a message from JetBlue saying that our flight has been delayed until 10:21 pm! We were supposed to be getting into New York around that time! So we were all very disappointed about this but we turned a not so happy situation in a positive one by going to one of my favorite restaurants BJ’s Brewhouse! They have a huge menu but their dessert is to die for! They sell these things called Pizookies! And they are absolutely delicious! I recommend trying one before you die! Hence why I say to die for! Haha!

Anyways, we ate dinner there with my dad before he dropped us off! We ended up waiting at the airport for at least 3 hours before our plane actually got there. They were actually stuck on the runway in New York waiting for the weather to clear up a little bit before they could take off anyways. Eventually our flight landed in Fort Myers and we were able to board and take off about an hour later!

So the coolest thing happened while we were flying! We were flying next to the moon which is something I have never done before so that was honestly very exciting for me to see! I had no idea you could fly like right next to the moon! It was a very beautiful site to see! And it kind of made leaving so late a little better! I love flying but I can’t sleep on planes like ever so I hate flying late at night because I’m always super tired but I can never actually fall asleep! Also I really need to start bringing blankets on planes because they are freezing and my feet and ankles went numb from being so cold! Thankfully I had brought a pair of socks with me so I think that helped a little bit!

So we finally landed at like 1:40 in the morning and then we went downstairs to get our luggage and they told us the wrong carousel thankfully I was turned around looking at something and saw my sisters suitcase! So we ran over to the other carousel and grabbed it and then I moved over to the front to grab the rest of them! Then we needed to find a cab and this was a whole new ordeal! It was crazy! So normally you just go right outside of baggage claim to grab a cab but they changed it so we had to go up stairs two flights, down a really long hallway and then back downstairs two flights! And then once we got off the elevator we had to wait in a really long unorganized line! Which for us is hard to do because we grew up going to Disney where everything is very organized with ropes and queues!

Once we got into our a cab it was about an hour drive into the city like always. We got to our hotel at like 3 something in the morning and we headed to the 8th floor because thats where the front desk was. We checked in and headed up to the 23rd floor to check out our room! When we walked in we checked everything out including our beautiful view of Times Square and then we all started to get ready for bed so we could get our sleep in for the next day!

Thanks for stopping by!
XO, Steph
