Hey guys,

So last weekend my family took a day trip to Boca Grande, Gasparilla Island! It's basically this cute little beach town that's technically a part of the same county as the one I live in but you have to drive a little over an hour and a half and pass through another county just to get to this little town. It's kind of a crazy idea if you think about! But anyways we loaded up our bikes and headed on our way to celebrate my dads birthday and fathers day!

We drove all the way to the end of the island parked in the public parking lot for a small fee and unloaded our bikes. We hoped on our bikes head back in the direction of town. We biked to the lighthouse first which we did not go up because I was the only one wearing flip flops and you can only go up if you are wearing closed toed shoes. When we got back to our bikes there was a turtle trying to cross the street so we quickly made sure that he went back in the correct direction because turtles are super cute!

Once we got to town we locked up our bikes and started to walk around and explore! We were all a little hungry so we went searching for a snack. We found one at a little convenient store that had the super cute pink gas pump outside of it! Once we were done with our snack we started to walk towards the hotel thats on the island. The last time we were there the hotel was closed because it closes during season. It's super cute inside and it's set up like an older hotel with actual keys for the rooms! There's a couple boutiques inside the hotel and a couple places to eat. There also a golf course for those who enjoy that sort of thing!

After we were done exploring the hotel, we walked down to the end the street to this little pier/dock and we saw a dolphin swimming back up the canal! I absolutely love dolphins and I think that they are super cute. I love whenever we get the chance to see them out in the wild! Next, it was time for lunch and so we headed back up the street to where all of the shops and restaurants are. We ate at The Loose Caboose which was really tasty! It's a very relaxed environment and a seat yourself type of place.

After lunch we decided to go exploring around town and check out some of the shops! We didn't buy anything but they were all very cute and had some pretty decent brands in them such as Sail to Sable, Lilly Pulitzer, and Vineyard Vines. After we did some more exploring, we got back on our bikes head back to the truck. We didn't really make anymore stops after this, it was extremely hot and we were all exhausted! Once we were back at the truck and everything was loaded up, my dad wanted to take a walk on the beach real quick so he and I did that while my mom and sister waited for us in the car.

Honestly, it was such a great day and I love visiting this little island! There's quite a few shops and restaurants on the island that you could easily spend a long weekend here exploring the town and hanging out by the beach. The beach is not crowded at all and it is my perfect idea of a beach trip! I hate when the beach is too crowded and theres no room for you lay a towel down or even walk in between all of the different groups.

Thanks for stopping by!
XO, Steph
