Hey guys,
On our last day in
Ireland we decided to take a tour of the Dingle Peninsula. Several people
recommended that we visit the Dingle Peninsula before leaving Ireland. It was probably
one of my favorite days because we didn’t have to worry about the stress of
driving anywhere and not knowing where to go, our tour guide was young and fun,
and everything we saw that day was absolutely beautiful.
We went on one of the
Paddywagon Tours that I mentioned in my Ireland Day 2 post. This is the exact
tour that we went on and we were able to pick it up at the Adare Heritage Centre, which was right across the street from our hotel. It was very
convenient! The bus picked us up, took us to another town and then we ended up
switching buses with several people and then we were on our way.
Some of the places
that we checked out include Inch Beach and Slea Head. I unfortunately cannot
remember the names of any of the other places that we checked out because we
were constantly making stops.
Our tour guide was
obsessed with baby sheep and so anytime he saw one he would either make sure to
point them out to us or he would pull off on the side of the road so we could
look at them. Sheep were everywhere in this country. Almost every single house
had one and they were absolutely adorable!
For lunch we stopped
in the town that is home to Fungi the dolphin. We had lunch in a place that our
tour guide recommended to us but the food wasn’t really that great.
Next, we headed to Slea Head which was another beachy area and the water was such a pretty blue. Since I can't remember the names of the places we went, I am just going to let the pictures do the speaking. If you happen to go to Ireland and want to go to these places just take a Paddywagon Tour of the Dingle Peninsula.
We ended our day by
heading back to The Arches restaurant in Adare because we got along so well with the
owner. We wanted to go back and tell him how much we loved being able to visit
his country and how we plan on coming back someday. Also, another food item that we picked up at the grocery store was this yogurt which was really good and I totally recommend it. It was strawberry yogurt with little crunchy pieces covered in white chocolate.
Ireland is a breathtaking
country and if you ever have the chance or desire to visit, I think you should!
It’s also a perfect stepping stone for visiting Europe because the country is
pretty tiny and you can see almost all of the main tourist attractions in one
week.
Stay tuned for what we did when we got to New York City!
Thanks for stopping
