Hey guys,
So I just wanted to
post a little update as to why I haven’t posted anything in a while. I was
planning on having enough posts pre-written and scheduled for the rest of
August but unfortunately I ran out of time. My sister and I recently moved out
of our rental house the last weekend in August and it was crazy stressful. We are
currently living with out parents and I will explain more why down below.
The whole process of
moving was quite stressful. I know that people always say that but it really
was in our situation. Unfortunately, we were not really in the mood to move AT
ALL. So we procrastinated a little bit and we didn’t really start the packing
process until the week before we moved. Also, originally we were not planning
on moving until August 30th or 31st which was a little
crazy of us because there was no way we would have been able to move everything
out and clean the entire house before turning in our keys. We ended up moving
on Saturday, August 27th and we didn’t turn in our keys until Wednesday,
August 31st at 11:30 p.m.
The main reason we
moved out of our house was because the owner of the house was actually selling
it and chances are the next owners were not buying it as a rental property.
However, we had originally decided that we were going to move out of it at the
end of our second year lease because we thought about moving to California or
New York. Honestly, we were having a really hard time picking which city to
move to and I personally just wasn’t really in the mood to move (I will have a
more detailed post about this later) and I really wanted to stay, which is what
we are doing.
So as I have
mentioned in a previous post, my sister and I were house hunting. It started
out as more of a, do we even qualify type of deal and then quickly progressed
into a, we put in offer in on a house situation. I am extremely happy with the
house that we picked. It came down to two different options and after talking
with a couple different people (mainly one person but I am not going to say
who) we deiced to go with the one that I really wanted. It was technically the
very first house that we looked at without even having a realtor. We just
decided to go to an open house one day after church and after reading all of
the details and learning about the house, I kind of fell for it quickly and I
felt like it was the one.
I am really excited
to move in and my sister and I (and our mom) have really big plans to renovate
the house over time. We have been on Pinterest like crazy searching for all
types of things to do ourselves for temporary fixes until we can save enough
money to remodel things to make them look the way we want them to. Also, funny
story, we need a dishwasher for the house and so we went to Sears to look
around and we walked out with a matching dishwasher, range and microwave. So
all we need now is the fridge to go with!
The house is pretty
old but it is located in a great area. It is also extremely close to the house
that my mom lived in when she was in high school, which is really funny. It’s
also really close to where our parents live now so if we ever need them, the
So as you can tell,
life has been a little crazy lately and I have been having a hard time getting
back into the swing of things (and by things I mean blogging). I have also been
a little discouraged about blogging lately but I am slowly feeling better about
it and wanting to blog again every day.
I have really big
plans for the blog and there are a lot of different things that I want to do
with it and I also have some other ideas in mind. Everything that I want to do
is just going to take some time and hopefully I will be able to develop some
kind of schedule to keep my on track and get all of my ideas rolling.
I have also been
looking for a job or two. I am not entirely sure what I want to do yet so that
has been challenging. The main goal so far is just to find a couple of jobs so
I can make the house payment that my sister and I are now going to have. Our
mortgage is going to be more than what we were paying in rent but the rent in
our area has gone up quite a bit since we moved into the house we were renting
so if we were to rent again it would be pretty equal to our mortgage. However,
for my sister, renting was not an option, which was one of the main reasons we
decided to purchase this house.
I hope you enjoyed
this post and I hope that I am able to keep blogging for the rest of the month.
Hopefully nothing else gets in the way of writing and posting blog posts.
Thanks for stopping
by!
